I don’t know about you but I’m feeling… 23?!?! | Personal Post | Sherwood Park & Edmonton Photographer

Another year has come and gone, so crazy. It feels like yesterday that I was graduating from high school and setting out on this crazy road to become a photographer. I know lots of people choose the new year to set goals and expectations for the next year, well I try and use my birthday (It’s basically the new year anyways)! So here we go, there are a lot of goals and things I want to accomplish in my 23rd year of life!

” A dream is just a dream. A goal is a dream with a plan and a deadline.” – Harvey Mackay

Personal Goals:

  • Take time to do other things I love (not “work” related) I am leaning towards knitting, anyone have any other hobby suggestions?
  • Workout five times a week – during wedding season this becomes very very difficult
  • Work/Life balance.
  • Create personal photo albums.
  • Travel to Australia to see my dear friends who will be living there.
  • Sleep more.
  • Clear out the clutter.
  • Shoot more photos in my personal life
  • Cut my spending ( Starbucks you might be taking a hit…)
  • Keep saving!
  • Learn to not be so hard on myself.
  • Do a DIY project once a month – my pinterest board is over flowing
  • Drink more water
  • Run another half marathon (I want to finish a full marathon before I’m 25)

Business Goals

  • Finish my new website
  • Hand out more business cards – I am AWFUL at this. I have had about 500 for the last 3 years. I maybe hand out 1 every six months
  • Photograph a proposal! Do you know anyone planning on proposing soon?? Wouldn’t be exciting to secretly catch it on camera??
  • Update blog twice three times a week
  • Keep expenses updated… I may be 5 months behind from last year..
  • Shoot one destination wedding Mexico next January for a dear friends wedding. Somewhere in Europe would be amazing.
  • Continue to learn
  • Either do a workshop or mentor-ship
  • Experiment more while shooting, don’t be afraid to fail occasionally
  • Book 14 weddings in 2014
  • Book 23 weddings for 2015
  • Shoot more film (the above photos are all personal film shots)
  • Organize one styled shoot, like this one
  • Get two weddings published
  • Set times to check emails, it is not necessary to check emails every 20 minutes.
  • Find more hidden photo shoot locations in Edmonton

I am sure I will add onto these lists as time goes on. Here is to a new year with tons of amazing weddings, clients and new adventures ahead!
